Living With MS: Twins Coast to Coast

Terry Hord and her identical twin sister Tamara Kahn, both have been living with Multiple Sclerosis for over 25 years. They are currently in secondary progressive MS that present multiple challenges on a daily basis. Both worked professionally for over 15 years before their multiple sclerosis caused them to stop working.

Recently, they set out to utilize social media as a platform to help become a resource for their community .“Once our children were in college, we decided to reach others living with chronic illnesses and be a support system for them”, said Terry. To accomplish this mission they launched Twins Coast to Coast to support, encourage, and inspire people living with chronic illnesses. Tamara lives in California and Terry lives in Georgia, hence giving their name Twins Coast to Coast.

“We are utilizing YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook, to provide education, encouragement, and open up about our lives whether good or bad,” said Terry. On their social media pages they introduce accessible products , travel tips and ways to live a fulfilling life. Their goal is to have positive attitudes and love for family and to encourage other people to do the same.

Recently one of MobilityWorks Certified Mobility Consultants, Scott Grabner, was asked to do an interview in late February 2020 with Twins Coast to Coast . Terry and Scott are both in the Georgia MS Leadership Class 2020, and initially met at MS Georgia State Action Day earlier this year at the Capitol.  Here is the link to the interview or watch below. Scott talks about the process of purchasing a wheelchair accessible vehicle and all MobilityWorks has to offer.
