NMEDA: ‘Say Hello to New Destinations’ During National Mobility Awareness Month

During the month of May, the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA) is celebrating National Mobility Awareness Month. Through virtual events and forums, people can learn more about automotive mobility solutions available to wheelchair users and those with limited mobility.

NMEDA is a non-profit trade association that administers education and training to members in the mobility industry. The organization, established in 1989, advocates for the industry on a larger scale by working with federal agencies and state legislatures. It also awards certifications for the Quality Assurance Program (QAP). The QAP is the only accreditation for auto mobility businesses in North America.

The association provides resources for consumers such as trusted dealership locations, mobility equipment options, and funding. Those resources will be front and center during the 9th annual National Mobility Awareness Month.

The theme for this year’s event is “Say Hello to New Destinations.” NMEDA’s goal is to encourage “fewer boundaries and more possibilities” by providing education to community members about mobility offerings that can help them live a more active lifestyle.

Community members are encouraged to get involved by sharing their stories on NMEDA’s social media pages and supporting awareness with the hashtag #nmam2021.
