Drive Thru Holiday Light Displays Around the Country

We have finally made it to December, that wonderful time of year when most of the country is dark before dinner and we all must decide what to do in the evening. What better time to go out and see some holiday lights? Here is a list of some of the largest and most interesting drive-thru light displays across the country to help you get into the holiday spirit.

We begin our tour in the Rockies with Christmas in Color which you can find in 5 locations: Salt Lake City UT, Denver CO, Morrison CO, Aurora CO, and Boise ID. This 20–30-minute drive features more than 1 million holiday lights synchronized to holiday music. Additionally, as this is a driven tour, pets are welcome as long as they stay in the vehicle.

Fantasy In Lights

Not to be outdone, Pine Mountain, Georgia offers the beloved Christmas tradition of Fantasy In Lights at Calloway Gardens. Highlighted by their 40-foot Pixel Pine Tree which twinkles along with holiday tunes, this seven-mile drive has more than 10 million lights on more than 26,000 standard 6-foot-tall Christmas trees. This experience is longer than most with an estimated 45-minute duration at minimum. In addition to a Christmas Village and the Jolly Trolley, Fantasy in Lights delivers holiday cheer for everyone.

Peace, Love & Lights

We now will shift our attention to Bethel, NY where Peace, Love & Lights has taken over the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. This year they have expanded their route to include the following areas: New York; Holidays Around the World; Snowflake Alley, Christmas; Candy Cane Lane; Enchanted Forest and Groovy Way. After the tour, you will have the option to venture out into the cold with a holiday market, DIY s’mores kits and even some live music! Please note, they have a specific schedule until December 14th when they will be open daily.

Holiday Lights at the Beach

Virginia Beach is always a great place to visit and their holiday light display is yet another reason to go. Jumping fish, musical crabs, and Surfing Santa highlight this display that starts at 2nd Street and travels north on the Virginia Beach Boardwalk, exiting at 33rd Street. New this year is a 600 ft. LED tunnel which is both the largest and longest curved LED light tunnel in the United States. If you are planning to visit, please note that tickets must be purchased in advance and Holiday Lights at the Beach goes on rain or shine.

Ohio Holiday Lights Trail

The Holiday Lights Trail features 70 different holiday light displays across the beautiful state of Ohio. Broken up regionally, this map features several drive-thru displays in addition to many accessible locations such as the Armstrong Air & Space Museum in addition to the Cleveland, Akron, Toledo, Columbus, and Cincinnati zoos.
