Renting Wheelchair Vans FAQ’s

Here is a list of renting wheelchair vans FAQ’s or frequently asked questions about wheelchair van rentals.
Q. What kind of vans do you rent?
A. Our most popular van is a minivan with a side ramp. Some locations also offer rear entry minivans, premium luxury minivans or full sized vans (additional charges may apply) Availability varies by location.

Q. If I rent a van from MobilityWorks, is someone else allowed to drive it?
A. Yes. They are permitted to drive the vehicle as long as they are over the age of 21 and a copy of a valid driver’s license is on file prior to the rental pick up.

Q. How long in advance do I need to make a reservation?
A. Our vans are in high demand and it is recommended that you make your reservations at least a couple of weeks in advance. The summer months and holidays tend to book up early so it is best to call as early as possible.

Q. Can I rent a van for a day or two in order to help make a purchase decision?
A. Absolutely. The weekend special is a great way to evaluate if a van purchase is right for you or your family. In many cases, your rental bill may be credited toward your purchase.

Q. If I am arriving at a local airport or can’t get to your location, can you deliver the van?
A. In many cases we can provide delivery of a van. Additional charges will apply. Please notify your rental coordinator at the time of booking your rental if you require this service so drivers can be scheduled and your coordinator can give you a price on this service.

Rental Notes
Information to have available:

  1. Current driver’s license for all drivers.
  2. Insurance card complete with agent’s name and contact information. Must be insured for both liability and collision.
  3. Flight information if applicable.
  4. Pick up dates, times and location if pick up/ delivery service is requested.
  5. Major credit required.
  6. Inform your rental coordinator if the wheelchair being used is exceptionally wide or tall.

Rentals may be cancelled upon 24 hours’ notice of the pick-up time without penalty. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a $75.00 charge.


  • Payment is due in full at the time of delivery
  • All airport rentals will be charged 72 hours or 3 days prior to the rental delivery
