Ms. Wheelchair California – Krystina Jackson

For as long as she can remember, Krystina Jackson has been determined to make a difference. Over 15 years ago, she was paralyzed in a snowboarding accident, but Krystina has never let that hold her back. She works three jobs, inspires disabled entrepreneurs across the country, and most recently represented her state as Ms. Wheelchair California 2018.

Krystina was born in Pennsylvania, but fell in love with the Bay Area and decided to move there for more professional opportunities. Last year, Krystina joined “Nor Cal Sci” at the 2017 San Mateo Abilities Expo to film an episode of their “My Falling Out Story” series. As the host, Krystina interviews guests to document the first time they fell out of their wheelchair.

While at the San Mateo Abilities Expo that Krystina learned about the Ms. Wheelchair America contest. She was hesitant to enter, but one of the companies Krystina works with called “Drail” called and offered to sponsor her entry. This was the extra incentive she needed to enter and begin writing her platform – promoting entrepreneurship.

In addition to competing for Ms. Wheelchair America, Krystina was also very excited to meet many of her coworkers in Michigan. For several years, she has worked as a customer care representative for Meijer, one of the nation’s largest grocery stores headquartered in Grand Rapids. Her colleagues picked Krystina up from the airport an enjoyed an afternoon together filled with laughs and smiles.

At the end of the week, Krystina was crowned as first runner-up for 2019 Ms. Wheelchair America. Her platform for promoting entrepreneurship inspired attendees and contestants to go out into the world and make a difference.

Congratulations Krystina, we look forward to following your continued success!
