A Reminder of the Sacrifices Made for the Freedoms We Enjoy

Please Remember Our Military Heroes on Memorial Day

Memorial Day is to honor and remember those who were killed while serving our country

Memorial Day was set aside to remember those who died fighting for our country. It was first observed on May 30th in 1868, when flowers were placed on the graves of Union and Confederate soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery. But to me, Memorial Day is another day, another opportunity to remember not only heroes lost, but also to thank all those who served.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the politician,
who has given us the right to vote.

It is
the VETERAN
who salutes the Flag.

It is
the VETERAN
who serves under the Flag.

Our Living Heroes and the Fallen Brave… God Bless Them All.
