2018 National Veterans Wheelchair Games

From July 30th – August 4th, veterans from around the country will compete in Orlando, FL at the 38th annual National Veterans Wheelchair Games (NVWG). The event is co-presented by the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) and takes place in a new city every year.

Participation is open to Veterans having spinal cord injuries, amputations, multiple sclerosis or other central neurological conditions who require a wheelchair for athletic competition. The National Veterans Wheelchair Games will feature 19 different events that veterans can choose to participate in. Some of the most popular events are wheelchair basketball, softball, swimming, powerlifting, and rifle shooting events. All events are free and open to the public.

For competitors and fans attending the 2018 NVWG, be sure to download their mobile app. It includes a schedule of events, interactive maps, live streaming of select games, and the latest standings. The app can be downloaded from the Google Play or Apple Store by searching “NVWG”.

It has already been announced that the 2019 Games will be held in Louisville, KY. Registration tends to fill up quickly, and for this year ended in April.
