May is National Mobility Awareness Month

National Mobility Awareness Month is when we encourage people with disabilities to embody the spirit of Life Moving Forward by raising awareness of the mobility solutions available in your community. The National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA) and MobilityWorks are taking part in celebrating the upcoming 4th Annual National Mobility Awareness Month.

NMEDA Local Hero Contest
Local Heroes can be Defined as People who Volunteer, Educate, Advocate, Achieve, and Persevere.

Whether you are living with a disability or have dedicated your time to helping someone who is, we want to hear what makes them a Local Hero.

Starting April 15th, tell NMEDA what makes you, or your loved one, a Local Hero for your chance to win a wheelchair accessible vehicle. They will be giving away four wheelchair accessible vehicles: one to a caregiver, one to a senior (60+), one that is battery powered for in-town driving only, and one in the general category.

Please submit either a two minute video OR a picture of the Local Hero AND a story with using 400 words or less. Stories will be shared and voted on. Voting is open to the public and at least three customized wheelchair accessible vehicles will be awarded to the Local Hero Winners.
