Ford Motor Company
is now offering the best
Powertrain Limited Warranty and Roadside Assistance packages of
any full-line auto company. Effective July 14, the new coverage is
retroactive to the beginning of the 2005 model year. Customers who
have already purchased 2007 model year Ford vehicles will automatically
receive the added protection.
Powertrain Limited Warranty
- The Powertrain Limited Warranty for Ford vehicles
is 5 years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. That’s
an additional 2 years / 24,000 miles of coverage for components
such as the engine and transmission beyond the vehicle’s
3-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper limited warranty.
- Under the new policy, the $100 deductible is now
removed from the Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel Engine Warranty
- Emissions warranties are unchanged. The Safety
Restraint Warranty is now 5 years/60,000 miles.
- The 5-year/100,000-mile Extended Service Plan
Powertrain Coverage on Focus is unchanged. However, there are
slightly different parts covered under the ESP and the Powertrain
Warranty. In addition, the deductible for the ESP applies after
5 years/60,000 miles.
Roadside Assistance
- The Roadside Assistance program is separate from
the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. Coverage begins at the warranty
start date and lasts for 5 years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes
first. Services include towing, fuel-fill and lockout assistance
- If you need towing beyond the 5-year/60,000-mile
period, Ford can arrange roadside assistance and charge your credit
card, unless the problem is covered by a Ford warranty. Ford will
pay the tow charge under the other warranty.
